Romans 10:13-15 “…And how shall they hear without a preacher? and how shall they preach, except they be sent?…” How can the person, with the call of God on their life to be a missionary, accomplish this task of taking Christ to the nations if he is not sent? How can the person with the desire to serve as a sender do so if there is no one to send? There are two types of people in the Church that are vital if we are to preach the gospel to this lost and dying world. They are both realized in the portion of the scripture “except they be sent”. The ones who are sent, which is the missionary, and also the ones who are the senders. There can not be one without the other. This brings us to the Mission of the Church. We MUST develop and train the missionaries who physically go out into the world as well as those who are the senders. The senders are the ones who remain in their homelands but support the ones they send by providing logistical support, prayer support, moral support, and financial support. We endeavor by God’s grace to carry out this mission in God’s love and in Christian submission to God’s word. We stand strong knowing that Jesus has commanded us to “Go and teach all nations…” Matt. 28:19. We will do this by “…speaking the truth in love…” Eph. 4:15 |
